Results of the second day at the "Grand Prix Ivan Yarygin -2022"

On the second day of the Ivan Yarygin 2022 Grand Prix tournament, men had preliminary and semifinal fights in the weight categories up to 65 kg, 79 kg and 125 kg, and women had preliminary and semifinal fights in the categories up to 53 kg, 57 kg and 62 kg.

    Among women in the weight up to 57 kg, Olga Khoroshavtseva - the Krasnoyarsk athlete, a participant of Tokyo 2021 Olympics reached the final. Krasnoyarsk athlete took over the representatives of Russia, Belarus and Mongolia on the way to the final. Khoroshavtseva will compete for gold with the first ever American Olympic champion Helen Marulis in the final on January 29. In the category up to 79 kg Krasnoyarsk wrestler Dmitry Zainidinov reached the semi-finals, but in a stubborn fight he lost to Russian Malik Shavaev and now on January 29 he will fight for the bronze of the tournament.

    In the final of the 55 kg category, the representative of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Ekaterina Isakova lost to the athlete from Buryatia Irina Ologonova and took the silver medal of the tournament. In the consolation round among men Krasnoyarsk athlete Ruslan Zhendaev in the weight category up to 70 kg won over Alan Kudzoev and brought the bronze of the tournament to the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

    Preliminary fights and semi-finals are scheduled for men in the 74, 86, 92 and 97 kg weight categories and for women in the 68, 72 and 76 kg categories on Saturday, January 29. There will also be consolation fights and finals for men in the 65, 79 and 125 kg weight categories and for women in the 53, 57 and 62 kg categories.
